The Bilou family began a new era when they purchased a 120-acre section with The Brick House in 1948. They made a living as farmers as well, and added their mark on the beautiful homestead; they enhanced the home with a larger master bedroom, an inviting front veranda, and an upstairs bedroom and bathroom - turning the home into an even more nurturing cocoon for family life.
Even when the farm was sold and subdivided in 1968, 'The Brick House' stood tall, retaining its distinct spirit. When Westland Park Townhomes was developed in 1973, Murray Hill Developments preserved the homestead, now a unique island of rustic charm nestled amidst urban conveniences. For the past 50 years, The Brick House has been home to the Caretakers of Westland Park.
